American Voices A-Z: a 9/11 Tribute

Join us for an afternoon of thirty portraits in dialogues honoring victims of the attacks, arranged and directed by Mark Flagg, with live music by Linda Binder and Rachel Orheim. Faithfully based on the New York Times' Portraits of Grief that appeared in the newspaper over a period of 15 weeks, honoring 1,910 victims. The Portraits became a cultural phenomenon on a national scale, not obituaries, but celebrations of lives rich in love, individuality, and character.
This performance is free for the library, but donations are requested to help defray costs of the troupe. |

The Art of Building with Clay: Lecture with artist & author Ben Tyjeski

Join us for an evening celebrating the craft of historic faience tile found in many Whitefish Bay homes. Local tile artist and architectural historian, Ben Tyjeski, will discuss the major techniques and craftsmen whose tiles are found in the village, including the local Continental Faience & Tile Co., the subject of one his books. He will also bring our attention to the many lessons shaped in clay that surround the built-environment, especially when we slow down and take notice.

Whitefish Bay Public Library will showcase a virtual author talk series each month featuring bestselling, award-winning, and highly-acclaimed authors from around the world. The featured writers and thought leaders will cover a wide range of fiction and health and wellness genres.
The free, virtual series takes place 2-3 times a month and includes the opportunity to ask questions to the author.
