One-on-One Tech Help

Technology Training Lab

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. by appt. only

Bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.

Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

$5 Bag Sale/Book Swap

Book Nook

May 9th, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Members of the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library are hosting special $5 bag sales at the Book Nook on select Saturdays January-October of this year. In May, the sale will feature a bonus Book Swap! For every book you bring in, you'll be able to get one for free. The regular $5 Bag Sale will still take place for those who do not wish to participate.

Stitching Circle

Technology Training Lab

Every other Wednesday,
6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Do you crochet, knit, or embroider? Are you looking to learn? Join us to focus on your project and connect with others who are passionate about your craft! Supplies will be available for use on a first come, first served basis. This is a member-led group.

Open to adults (ages 18+) only. Registration is not required.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Civic Center

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Library Board Meeting

Tower Room

May 14th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Technology Training Lab

May 14th, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m

Do you wish that you knew more about how to use Facebook to connect with other family members, friends, and colleagues? Topics include: how to change your profile picture, how to send a message and post to other user’s walls, friending and liking, and privacy settings.

This is a single-session class. Registration is required.

OCPL Trivia Night

Multi-purpose Room

May 15th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Join us for a night full of trivia and fun! Snacks, beverages, and music will accompany a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Members of the winning team will receive an OCPL Trivia trophy and a gift card to a local business.

Registration is required. Please limit your team to a minimum of two members and a maximum of six members.

Guided Nature Walk

Emerald Preserve

May 16th + May 30th,

9:30 - 10:15 a.m

Join accomplished birders Austin Hribar and Beto Duron for a beginner-friendly walk around Emerald Preserve. They will highlight birds, blooming wildflowers, plants of interest, and other local wildlife. The space is very accessible with well-maintained trails.

This program is open to all ages. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.

Poetry Open Mic Night

Multi-purpose Room

May 29th, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m

Take the stage or simply come to enjoy our community's talented poets. Winners of the Poetry Contest from April 2026 will be awarded at the beginning of this event and then invited to share their winning entries.

This program is open to all ages. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. If you would like to participate in the open mic, registration is recommended but not required.

The library will be closed May 25.

Free Comic Book Day Giveaway

May 2nd

Visit the 2nd floor Service Desk on Saturday, May 2 to choose a free comic book and a DC or Marvel Hero button! One comic book/button OR button per patron, available while supplies last.

Due to young adult content, this program is geared toward teens. Registration is not required.

This program is for those in grades 2-5. Registration is required.

Teen Volunteer Orientation

Come and learn about the teen volunteer program and opportunities available this summer. New volunteers must submit the volunteer application before the event.

This program is for those entering grades 7-12 in Fall 2026. Registration is required.

After School Art Club

Bring your imagination and creative thinking skills to our After School Art Club! At each session, you will create a different work of art.
