Common Scams and Frauds Targeting Seniors

The Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection will discuss the details of common scams that target seniors, the warning signs of a scam, and what to do if you or someone you know falls victim to a scam or fraud.

Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

Friends of the Library Meeting

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Members of the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library are hosting special $5 bag sales at the Book Nook on select Saturdays January-October of this year. Choose from children's books, adult fiction and non-fiction, audiobooks, DVDs, and more.

Ceol Cairde: Traditional Irish Music and Dance

Come enjoy some traditional Irish music, and dance with us! Ceol Cairde members share the energy and spirit of the traditional Irish music they enjoy so much.
 
Geared toward adults, but all ages are welcome to attend. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required.

Character Championship

Begins March 2nd!

Do you think your favorite character has what it takes to win a Character Championship? Your vote will decide! To be entered into the contest, your bracket must be in and completed between March 2-16. Then, make sure to vote each week for your favorite characters.
 
Round 1: March 17-23
Round 2: March 24-30
Round 3: March 31 - April 6
 
Winners (those with correctly picked brackets) will receive a Book Nook coupon and an exclusive pin. Brackets and voting slips will be available at a table in front of the green boxcar located on the 1st floor of the library.
 
This program is for all ages. Registration is not required.
