One-on-One Tech Help

Bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.
 
Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

Office for Beginners

Technology Training Lab

Sept. 4th - 25th, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m

Do you need to use Microsoft Office products for work or school? Wish that you were more familiar with the basics? In this 4-week computer class, participants will learn the basics of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

This is a 4-week class. Registration is required.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Civic Center

Sept. 10th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Library Board Meeting

Tower Room

Sept. 11th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

OCPL Trivia Night

Sept. 12th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m

Join us for a night full of trivia and fun! Snacks, beverages, and music will accompany a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Members of the winning team will receive an OCPL Trivia trophy and a gift card to a local business.
 
Registration is required. Please limit your team to a minimum of two members and a maximum of six members.

Friends of the Library Book Nook: $5 Bag Sale

Book Nook

Sept. 13th, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library are hosting a $5 bag sale at the Book Nook on select Saturdays this summer and fall. Choose from children's books, hardcover fiction and non-fiction, paperbacks, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, and special-priced items.

Halloween Costume Swap

Sept. 27th, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Looking for a Halloween costume? "Shop" the free swap—even if you don't have a costume to swap—while supplies last.
 
This program is for all ages. Registration is not required. Held by the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library.

Family, Teen, and Children's Programs

Family Fun: Pokémon Party

Multi-purpose Room

Sept. 4th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

We'll play some Pokémon-inspired games, make crafts, go on scavenger hunts, and more! We will use vanilla Oreos and cookie decorating frosting to decorate cookies as an activity; please let us know if you have any food allergies when you arrive.
 
This program is designed for ages 4-11 with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required.

This 30-minute Story Time is geared toward children ages 2-5, with an adult (siblings welcome). We'll be incorporating music and movement into all books, songs, and rhymes.

Meet us at the Farmers Market for Story Time! These 20-minute interactive sessions incorporate stories, songs, and rhymes.

Sept. 16th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Come and learn about the teen volunteer program and opportunities available this fall. This orientation is required for new volunteers who must also submit the volunteer application before the event. The online application form is available here
