Book of the Month

Skip the long wait-list and pick up popular titles today with our Lucky Day Book of the Month! Each month we choose a popular book and purchase extra copies that are available for immediate checkout. This program is generously funded and made possible by the Friends of the Greendale Public Library. The Lucky Day book for this month is Say You'll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez.

Book Cover
"There might be no such a thing as a perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes--all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediately yes. That is until Xavier opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. Like, really wrong. Of course, there's nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong...unless, of course, he can admit he made a mistake. But after one incredible and seemingly endless date--possibly the best in living history--Samantha is forced to admit the truth, that her family is in crisis and any kind of relationship would be impossible. Samantha begs Xavier to forget her. To remember their night together as a perfect moment, as crushing as that may be. Only no amount of distance or time is nearly enough to forget that something between them. And the only thing better than one single perfect memory is to make a life--and even a love--worth remembering"-- Provided by publisher.

Dear Library Lovers,

As the days grow longer and the Wisconsin sunshine warms our faces, I wanted to take a moment to share why I think summer is such a magical time for reading. Think of it – lazy afternoons in a hammock with the gentle rustling of leaves as your soundtrack with the whole world slowing down just enough to truly get lost in a story.

Summer offers us a unique opportunity to explore new worlds and ideas at our own pace. With fewer structured commitments, we have the freedom to finally dive into that novel that's been patiently waiting on our nightstand, or perhaps discover a thrilling new series to keep us company on our travels. I personally look forward to browsing magazines at the airport during a summer vacation and deciding to select that one with the super-long articles I don’t have time to get through the rest of the year!

Our library is brimming with adventures just waiting to be unlocked! From engrossing fiction that transports you to faraway lands to fascinating non-fiction that sparks curiosity, we have something for everyone, no matter your age or interest. And I know you won't forget our wonderful selection of children's books – summer reading is a fantastic way to keep young minds engaged and prevent the "summer slide." Did you know that 1 of every 2 books checked out here is a kid’s book? That’s a lot of captivated young minds.

We're also excited to offer a variety of summer programs for all ages. The Summer Reading Program officially starts at School’s Out on Wednesday, June 11. But you can start browsing our website and newsletter for details today!

So, as you embrace the warmth and freedom of summer, I encourage you to make reading a part of your season. Come visit us at the library – your gateway to endless summer adventures, one page at a time. We can't wait to see you!
