Consider joining OCPL's Writing Club! Members meet every other Saturday to explore a new prompt, share their work, and workshop current projects. This is a member-lead club, so the structure is flexible to the needs of each session. We hope you can join us!

Are you looking for one-on-one technology assistance? On Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.
 
Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

How To Take Notes to Get Better Grades

Multi-purpose Room

Nov. 12th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m

Learn how to better take notes in class or other learning environments. This includes how to read textbooks and articles more efficiently and what to do with the notes you take. This program is designed for learners from the high school level all the way through to non-traditional students furthering their education.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Civic Center

Nov. 13th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the CIvic Center.

Library Board Meeting

Nov. 14th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Advanced Excel: PivotTables

Technology Training Lab

Nov. 14th, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m

PivotTables are a powerful tool used to calculate, summarize, and analyze data, letting you see comparisons, patterns, and trends. This class is recommended for people who have an intermediate level knowledge of Excel (or who have taken an Intermediate Excel class).

 
This is a single-session class. Registration is required.

Internet Awareness for Children

Technology Training Lab

Nov. 19th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m

A representative from the Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection will discuss safe practices for children while accessing the internet.

Perfect for parents. Registration is not required.

Balloons Over Broadway

Story Time Room

Nov. 4th, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Let's create a parade balloon! Learn how parade planners create and plan for balloon floats, and then design a mini balloon float of your own. We will be doing some activities and experiments, so please wear something that you are okay with getting messy.

A Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Support Group

Story Time Room

Nov. 14th, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

This monthly support group is led by Oak Creek Health Department Certified Lactation Counselors. We can help with latch, supply issues, positioning, and more.

This program is geared toward breast/chest feeding parents and their babies (siblings welcome). Expectant parents are also welcome. Registration is not required.

Middle School: Haunted Gingerbread Houses

Story Time Room

Nov. 18th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Join us in making haunted gingerbread houses as we watch a seasonal movie. Food and refreshments will be provided. Please wear something you are okay with getting messy since we will be decorating using frosting and icing.
