One-on-One Tech Help

Technology Training Lab

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. by appt. only

Are you looking for one-on-one technology assistance? On Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.
 
Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

Intermediate Microsoft Office

Technology Training Lab

Oct. 3rd - 24th

6:00 - 8:30 p.m

Learn intermediate concepts in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher such as: using tables and editing headers/footers, using conditional values and creating charts/graphs, animating slides and using timing, as well as creating shapes and inserting building blocks. 

 
This is a 4-week class. Registration is required.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Civic Center

Oct. 9th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the CIvic Center.

Library Board Meeting

Oct. 10th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Bigfoot: Where Is He?

Multi-purpose Room

Oct. 15th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Is Bigfoot really out there? Have you seen or heard something yourself? Don't miss this presentation from Barnaby Jones, a cryptozoologist, paranormal researcher, and author. He is the founder and lead investigator for Cryptids, Anomalies, and the Paranormal Society (CAPS) based in Wisconsin.

 

This program is geared toward adults and teens. Registration is not required.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Bring your stuffed animal friend for crafts, a story time, and a stuffed animal sleepover. Be sure to check Facebook to see what kind of fun the stuffed animal friends find after the library closes.

This program is designed for ages 4-11 with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration not required.

Middle School: Nerf Fights

Multi-purpose Room

Oct. 4th, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Join us on this no-school day to battle with your friends. We will be doing a ton of physical activity, so remember to wear comfortable clothing to move around in. Bring your own Nerf Blaster and let the battle begin! We'll supply standard sized Nerf Darts, so please leave yours at home. Cohosted with Milwaukee Nerf Outings (MANO).

This program is for those in grades 6-8. Registration is required.

Teens can visit the 2nd floor Service Desk any time from October 7-12 to choose two free books! Items up for grabs include Advance Reading Copies (ARCs) and young adult (YA) titles of new quality. Available while supplies last. This program is geared toward teens. Registration is not required.

STEAM Lab: Look to the Stars!

Story Time Room

Oct. 7th, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Let's go to the stars! We'll learn about constellations, the planets, and other items about space. We will be doing some activities and experiments, so please wear something that you are okay with getting messy.

A Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Support Group

Story Time Room

Oct. 10th, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

This monthly support group is led by Oak Creek Health Department Certified Lactation Counselors. We can help with latch, supply issues, positioning, and more.

This program is geared toward breast/chest feeding parents and their babies (siblings welcome). Expectant parents are also welcome. Registration is not required.
