One-on-One Tech Help

Technology Training Lab

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. by appt. only

Are you looking for one-on-one technology assistance? On Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.

Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

Getting Your House Ready to Sell

Technology Training Lab

May 7th, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m

Whether you're a first-time seller or looking to optimize your process, this class has you covered. Elevate your home-selling experience and achieve the best results!

 

Registration is required. Instead of registering through the library's LocalHop, please register on the seminar site.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Tower Room

May 8th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the Tower Room.

Library Board Meeting

May 9th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Oak Creek Library Night @ Milwaukee Milkmen

Franklin Field

May 11th, 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Support the Library and enjoy a fun night of baseball cheering on your Milwaukee Milkmen vs. the Kane County Cougars at Franklin Field. Purchase tickets and raise funds to support library programming throughout the year.

Tickets start at $11, and a portion of all ticket sales are donated back to the library.

Six-Minute Memoir Workshop

Multi-purpose Room

May 14th, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Hosted by author Mary Helen Stefaniak, this workshop is an opportunity to capture a place, a person, or a moment from your past and bring it to life by writing a six-minute memoir of your own.

This program is geared toward teens & adults. Registration is required.

Computer Class

Advanced Excel: PivotTables

Technology Training Lab

May 16th, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

PivotTables are a powerful tool used to calculate, summarize, and analyze data, letting you see comparisons, patterns, and trends. This class is recommended for people who have an intermediate level knowledge of Excel (or who have taken an Intermediate Excel class). 

 

This is a single-session class. Registration is required.

OCPL Trivia Night: It's Showtime!

Multi-purpose Room

May 24th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Join us for a night full of movie trivia and fun! Snacks, beverages, and music will accompany a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Members of the winning team will receive an OCPL Trivia trophy and a gift card to Marcus Theatres.

Registration is required. Please limit your team to a minimum of two members and a maximum of six members.

Free Comic Book Day Giveaway

2nd floor Service Desk

May 4th, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Teens, visit the 2nd floor Service Desk on Saturday, May 4 to choose a free comic book and a DC Hero button! One comic book/button OR button per patron, available while supplies last.

This program is geared toward teens. Registration is not required.

Mondays, Apr. 8th - May 13th

6:30 - 7:00 p.m.

This 30-minute Story Time is geared toward children ages 2-5, with an adult (siblings welcome). We'll be incorporating music and movement into all books, songs, and rhymes.

This 15-20-minute Story Time is geared toward children ages birth to 24 months, with an adult (siblings welcome). It features short stories, songs, and lapsit rhymes that foster early literacy and will be followed by a play time.

Storytelling Night

Calling all actors and storytellers! Enjoy an evening telling different stories with props, felt cut outs, and puppets at various stations. There will also be story-related crafts.

Work as a team to create, experiment and learn through hands-on activities. Learn the science behind roller coasters, and then make your own roller coaster!

Learn about opportunities available this summer. This orientation is required for new volunteers and encouraged for returning volunteers. The online application form will be available here starting Monday, May 6th.

Middle School 'Glow in the Dark Night'

Story Time Room

May 20th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

To celebrate the end of the school year, come join us for some glow stick games, dancing, and refreshments. Participants will take home glow-in-the-dark items.

This program is for those in grades 6-8. Registration is required.
