Same Services, New Machines!

New Machines
We're excited to announce that printing services are back at GPL! We appreciate your patience last month while we upgraded our machines. As a result, we've installed a new public Printer and Copier/Scanner, along with a staff-assisted Fax Machine.
All services and capabilities remain the same as before, with the only change being that printing and copying/scanning are now available on separate machines. We believe these new machines will offer quicker and better quality printing, scanning, copying, and faxing.
Next time you visit the library, be sure to stop by the Computer Area and try out our new Copier/Scanner and Printer. If you need to send a fax, our staff at the front desk will be happy to assist you with our new Fax Machine.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to helping you with these upgraded services!

New CLC Guide

Community Learning Center Education & Recreation Guide: Summer 2024
Greendale Residents, watch your mailboxes this month for the Community Learning Center Education and Recreation Guide. You’ll recognize the booklet as being similar to the Park and Recreation Department’s seasonal Greendale Recreation Guide. However, in the spirit of ongoing collaboration and efficiency, the Park and Rec guide will now include program information for ALL the CLC departments. We’re proud of this joint effort and hope you find it convenient and useful.

Book of the Month

Skip the long wait-list and pick up popular titles today with our Lucky Day Book of the Month! Each month we choose a popular book and purchase extra copies that are available for immediate checkout. The Lucky Day book for this month is The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon.

The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon

"Maine, 1789: When the Kennebec River freezes, entombing a man in the ice, Martha Ballard is summoned to examine the body and determine cause of death. As a midwife and healer, she is privy to much of what goes on behind closed doors in Hallowell. Her diary is a record of every birth and death, crime and debacle that unfolds in the close-knit community. Months earlier, Martha documented the details of an alleged rape committed by two of the town’s most respected gentlemen—one of whom has now been found dead in the ice. But when a local physician undermines her conclusion, declaring the death to be an accident, Martha is forced to investigate the shocking murder on her own. Clever, layered, and subversive, Ariel Lawhon’s newest offering introduces an unsung heroine who refused to accept anything less than justice at a time when women were considered best seen and not heard. The Frozen River is a thrilling, tense, and tender story about a remarkable woman who left an unparalleled legacy yet remains nearly forgotten to this day."-- Provided by publisher.
