One-on-One Tech Help

Technology Training Lab

Are you looking for one-on-one technology assistance? On Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.

Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

Computer Skills 2.0

Technology Training Lab

6:00 - 8:30 p.m

This computer class is for people who are ready for the next level of instruction. Topics include: desktop/taskbar customization, an in-depth look at the file explorer, Internet search tips, as well as guidelines to keep yourself safe while using your computer.

 

This is a 4-week class. Registration is required.

Library Board Meeting

Tower Room

Feb. 8th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Tower Room

Feb. 14th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the Tower Room.

These databases provide a comprehensive collection of reliable news sources covering a wide array of topics and issues. Use Access World News Research Collection for local + national + international articles. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Collection covers stories & events specific to our local county. All you need to login is your Oak Creek Library card and PIN.

Winter Reading Challenge

Registration opened Dec. 1st

The Winter Reading Challenge runs Friday, December 1 – Thursday, February 29. Patrons of all ages may participate. Anyone who registers will have their name added to a winter mural located on the library windows overlooking Drexel Town Square. After 10 hours of reading, registered participants will receive a prize (available while supplies last).

Need books? Let us build you a book bundle! Tell us what kind of books you’d like and a librarian will select titles based on your request. Get started.

Music and Movement

Multi-purpose Room

Mondays, Jan. 8th - Mar. 11th

6:30 - 7:00 p.m.

This 30-minute Story Time is geared toward children ages 2-5, with an adult (siblings welcome). We'll be incorporating music and movement into all books, songs, and rhymes.

Registration is not required.

This 15-20-minute Story Time is geared toward children ages birth to 24 months, with an adult (siblings welcome). It features short stories, songs, and lapsit rhymes that foster early literacy and will be followed by a play time.

Registration is not required. Please only attend one time slot per day.

Family Fun

Pet Celebration Night

Multi-purpose Room

Feb. 1st, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Do you love dogs, cats, birds or other furry/scaly pets? Come celebrate these creatures with crafts and games. All pet lovers—whether or not you have any of your own—are invited. Actual pets will need to stay home. Dressing up as a pet, however, is encouraged!

This program is designed for ages 4-11 with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required.

STEAM Lab: Coding & Crafting

Story Time Room

Feb. 5th, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Work as a team to create, experiment and learn through hands-on activities. We will create our own fuzz ball character on the app Kodable and a "real" fuzz ball character using yarn and a pompom maker.

This program is for those in grades 2-5. Registration is required.

Bring your imagination and creative thinking skills to our Art Club! At each session, you will create a different work of art.

Brick by Brick, we'll build awesome creations and friendships at LEGO Club! Come make your masterpiece.
