Book of the Month

Skip the long wait-list and pick up popular titles today with our Lucky Day Book of the Month! Each month we choose a popular book and purchase extra copies that are available for immediate checkout. The Lucky Day book for this month is None of This is True by Lisa Jewell.

Cover None of this is True Lisa Jewell

On the heels of first-rate thrillers, The Night She Disappeared (2021) and The Family Remains (2022), Jewell’s newest could be her best yet. Alix Summer is a podcaster looking for a new subject. One evening she meets a woman named Josie in her local pub. Improbably, they are both celebrating their forty-fifth birthdays. Several days later they meet again at the school where Alix’s children are students, and Josie suggests herself as an ideal subject for Alix’s podcast: a woman who shares her birthday and whose life, Josie says, is full of fascinating material. Alix agrees, though once she begins to see what sort of person Josie really is, she develops minor misgivings that turn into serious doubts and then terrifying suspicions. Jewell is great at creating characters with ambiguous motivations whose position on the line between good and evil continues to shift as the story progresses, and both features are on prime display here. A terrific novel from a consistently satisfying writer.

A Message from our new Library Board President, Corrine D'Amato

Greendale Public Library Director, Brian Van Klooster

Greetings Neighbors!

First of all I want to thank Kate Dombrowski for her years of service and all she did as President of the Greendale Library Board. I enjoyed working with her on the Library Board.  I am looking forward to working and learning with the Library and the Library Bboard and to serve as the current Ppresident.

A little about me, I have been a Greendale resident since 2007 and have, and have had, children in the Greendale School District. I love volunteering when I can with the many different organizations within the community such as PTO's, Greendale Education Foundation, Greendale Lions Club, Greendale Entertainment Association, and Greendale Jr. Panther Cheerleaders.

Greendale is truly a unique community and we are proud to call it home. We have used the library programs and resources at the Community Learning Center (CLC) since we have lived here.

-Corrine
