Our Winter Reading Program is back! Adults can participate through Beanstack, while teens and kids can stop by the Youth Services Desk to get started. The program starts on January 15 and runs through February 29.  The adult reading program is sponsored by Friends of the Whitefish Public Library while the kids program is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of North Shore Milwaukee.

Join us for an evening with author Nick Petrie for his newest book in the Peter Ash series, The Price You Pay. Nick will be in conversation with Sharon Nagel, also known as half of the writing team pseudonym Juneau Black. This event is cohosted by Boswell Book Company. Boswell will be on hand selling copies of Nick's books.

Celebrate Valentine's Day by finding a new stuffie to love!  We'll have a variety of Beanie babies who are all in need of a loving home.  Select the perfect stuffie for you and we'll help you create some fun items perfect for welcoming it home.

Drop in anytime between 3pm and 5pm and upcycle a paperback book into a cute hedgehog!  We'll provide everything you need, including accessories for your hedgie.

Friends of the Whitefish Bay Public Library

Writing Contest 2024

Friends are once again offering Friends of the Whitefish Bay Public Library Writing Contest. This will be the 11th straight year for the contest, which includes submission categories for short story (1,000 words or less), memoir (1,000 words or less), and poetry (200 words or less). The contest is open to anyone 16 and up. Submissions will be accepted from January 8 - February 9 and are limited to one entry per category per person. Cash prizes will be awarded in spring. Please include a cover page on your entry with the following: Name, address, email, phone number, entry date, and category.

Friends Scholarship 2024

Friends of the Whitefish Bay Public Library are pleased to announce two $1,000 educational scholarships for students who have been positively influenced by libraries. High school seniors who are residents of or attend school in Whitefish Bay and will be attending college during the 2024/2025 school year are eligible.
