Shhh...Silent Auction

Technology Training Lab

Nov. 27th - Dec. 8th

The Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library are excited to present the Shhh... Silent Auction event from November 27 through December 8. Join us on the 2nd floor in the Technology Training Lab during the library's open hours to bid on unique items perfect for the gift-giving season, donated by our community members. Proceeds benefit the library for community enrichment.

Registration is not required.

Musical Sing-along Nights

Multi-purpose Room

Dec. 6th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Come and sing along to a well-known and loved movie musical at our ‘Musical Sing-along Nights’. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:00 p.m. Snacks/beverages will be provided. Stay for a chance to win themed raffle prizes!

Registration is not required. This program is for all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

One-on-One Tech Help

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. by appt. only

Are you looking for one-on-one technology assistance? On Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.

Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

This holiday season, come to the Oak Creek Public Library’s Wrapping Room to wrap your gifts with friends and neighbors, and away from prying eyes. Bring your own supplies or use the library’s while they last.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Technology Training Lab

Dec. 13th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the Technology Training Lab.

Library Board Meeting

Tower Room

Dec. 14th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Computer Class

Intro to Outlook

Technology Training Lab

Dec. 14th, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Do you want to feel more comfortable with the basics of using Microsoft Outlook? In this computer class, we will cover basic navigation skills, organizing messages and contacts, creating appointments/meetings, and basic email etiquette.

 

This is a single-session class. Registration is required.

Family, Teen, and Children's Programs

Winter Reading Challenge

Registration opens Dec. 1st

The Winter Reading Challenge runs Friday, December 1 – Thursday, February 29. Patrons of all ages may participate. After 10 hours of reading, participants will receive a prize* and have their name added to a mural located on the library windows overlooking Drexel Town Square.

Time Capsule

Multi-purpose Room

Dec. 7th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

We'll supply the capsule, you bring the memories and artistic talent. There will be crafts and prompts to spark ideas that will be fun in the future. You'll take the capsule home and open it in 5, 10, or 15 years! You get to choose.

This program is designed for ages 4-11 with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required.
