Adult Programs

Musical Sing-along Nights

Multi-purpose Room

Nov. 1st, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Come and sing along to a well-known and loved movie musical at our ‘Musical Sing-along Nights’. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:00 p.m. Snacks/beverages will be provided. Stay for a chance to win themed raffle prizes!

Registration is not required. This program is for all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

One-on-One Tech Help

Technology Training Lab

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. by appt. only

Are you looking for one-on-one technology assistance? On Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.

Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Technology Training Lab

Nov. 8th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the Technology Training Lab.

Library Board Meeting

Tower Room

Nov. 9th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Motor Vehicle Repair

Multi-purpose Room

Nov. 9th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Ben Merens of the Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection will present information on Motor Vehicle Repair contracts under Wisconsin law. You will learn tips on selecting a repair shop, ordering parts to fix on your own, and even purchasing a replacement vehicle.

Registration is not required.

Computer Class

Convert Your Memories –  Analog to Digital

Technology Training Lab

Nov. 16th, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Did you know that our “Beyond Books” collection has digitization equipment? This class will show you how to convert your analog materials (VHS, cassette, and film negatives) into digital format. In addition, there will be instruction on how to use the Blue Yeti recording microphone as well as discussion about the different drives and hubs the library has available for checkout.

 

This is a single-session class. Registration is required.

Roar! Get ready for an evening with crafts, games, and an obstacle course featuring some scaly and toothy Jurassic creatures!

This program is designed for ages 4-11 with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required.

Are you a fan of "The Warriors" by Erin Hunter? This book party will have crafts and activities relating to the book series.

This program is for those in grades 2-5. Registration is required.

STEAM Lab - LEGO® WeDo

Story Time Room

Nov. 8th, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Work as a team to build and code a LEGO® WeDo robot to complete an assigned task.

This program is for those in grades 4-5. Registration is required.

This 25-30 minute Story Time is geared toward children ages 3-5, with an adult (siblings welcome). It features stories, songs, and rhymes that foster early literacy.

Middle School Cosplay Ducks

Story Time Room

Nov. 20th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Unleash your creativity and embark on a whimsical adventure as you design and craft captivating cosplay outfits for rubber ducks. From mythical creatures to beloved characters, these adorable quackers will be transformed into the stars of their very own imaginative tales!

This program is for those in grades 6-8. Registration is required.
