Adult Programs

Musical Sing-along Nights

Multi-purpose Room

Oct. 4th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Come and sing along to a well-known and loved movie musical at our ‘Musical Sing-along Nights’. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:00 p.m. Snacks/beverages will be provided. Stay for a chance to win themed raffle prizes!

Registration is not required. This program is for all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

One-on-One Tech Help

Technology Training Lab

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. by appt. only

Are you looking for one-on-one technology assistance? On Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.

Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

Intermediate Microsoft Office

Technology Training Lab

October 5th - 26th

6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Participants will learn intermediate concepts in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher such as: using tables and editing headers/footers, using conditional values and creating charts/graphs, animating slides and using timing, as well as creating shapes and inserting building blocks.

This is a 4-week class. Registration is required.

Paranormal Wisconsin - Tales of Ghosts, UFOs, and Mysterious Creatures

Multi-purpose Room

Oct. 10th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

This presentation is an eerie combination of bizarre paranormal topics. Author, lecturer, and researcher Chad Lewis has combined his strangest cases of alien abductions, haunted places, mysterious creatures, crop circles, and everything else weird and unusual.

 

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Technology Training Lab

Oct. 11th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the Technology Training Lab.

Library Board Meeting

Oct. 12th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Trick or Treat: Adoptable Dogs Meet and Greet

Multi-purpose Room

Oct. 28th, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Come say "Hi!" to adoptable dogs at Woof Gang Rescue's Trick or Treat! Show off your costume and take some photos with the pups in their costumes! Every dog at Woof Gang Rescue stays with a foster family until they go to their forever home.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required.

Book Party - Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Are you a fan of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney? This book party will have crafts and activities relating to the book series.

Math Night

Multi-purpose Room

Oct. 5th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Join us for a magnificent night with math! Math Night is co-hosted by the Oak Creek Public Library and Mathnasium to inspire kids to experience math through games and activities geared to their own level. Kids will feel empowered to further explore STEM education and careers while involving whole families in a fun, enjoyable shared experience.

This program is designed for ages 4-11 with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required.

Teens, visit the 2nd floor Service Desk any time from October 9-14 to choose two free books! Items up for grabs include Advance Reading Copies (ARCs) and YA titles of new quality. Available while supplies last.

Come discuss Jonathan Case's 2022 post-apocalyptic eco-adventure graphic novel "Little Monarchs." The first eight readers registered can come to the library to grab a reserved copy for checkout at the 1st floor Service Desk.
