Adult Programs

Musical Sing-along Nights

Multi-purpose Room

Sept. 6th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Come and sing along to a well-known and loved movie musical at our ‘Musical Sing-along Nights’. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:00 p.m. Snacks/beverages will be provided. Stay for a chance to win themed raffle prizes!

Registration is not required. This program is for all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

One-on-One Tech Help

Technology Training Lab

Thursdays starting Sept. 7th

 

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. by appt. only

Are you looking for one-on-one technology assistance? On Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., bring in your device for a 30-minute appointment with a librarian. Library laptops will be available for general computer assistance.

Registration for each Thursday opens the Monday prior. You may only register for one 30 minute session per Thursday; walk-in appointments are not available.

Technology Training Lab

September 7th - 28th

6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Participants will learn the basics of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Topics include: how to create a simple document; format text, cut, copy & paste; create a monthly expense spreadsheet; use AutoSum; create a simple slideshow; insert pictures; use animations; create a simple flyer; and use a template to create a business card. 

This is a 4-week class. Registration is required.

The Origins of Ancient Vietnam

Multi-purpose Room

Sept. 12th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m

This Badger Talk lecture presented by Professor Nam Kim details ongoing archaeological fieldwork at Co Loa, one of the earliest cities of ancient Vietnam. Connected to colorful folk tales and legends describing it as an ancient capital, Co Loa dates to over two thousand years ago and is viewed as a pivotal foundation for Vietnamese civilization.

Friends of the Library Meeting
Technology Training Lab

Sept. 13th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

 

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the Technology Training Lab.

Library Board Meeting

Sept. 14th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

OCPL Trivia Night

Multi-purpose Room

Sept. 29th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Are you feelin’ quizzy? Join us for a night full of trivia and fun! Snacks, beverages, and music will accompany a mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. There are a total of five rounds—all different categories—and each round has ten questions. Members of the winning team will receive an OCPL Trivia trophy and a gift card to a local business.

Registration is required. Please limit your team to six members or less.

Family Fun

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Multi-purpose Room

Sept. 7th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Put on your PJs and get ready to snuggle with your stuffed animal friend for a story time, crafts, and sleepover at the library. After you tuck your stuffed animal friend in and say good night, check our Facebook page to see what kind of fun they find after the library closes!

This program is designed for ages 4-11 with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required.

Meet us at the Farmers Market for Story Time! This 20-minute interactive Story Time incorporates stories, songs, and rhymes.

This program is geared toward children ages 2-5, with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required. Feel free to bring a blanket to sit on.
