Computer Class

Basic Computer Skills

Technology Training Lab

July 5th - 26th

9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Participants will learn computer, Internet, search tool, and basic email concepts. Topics include: using a mouse, opening and closing windows, going to websites, navigating a website, using the online Library catalog, using google.com, as well as sending, replying to, and deleting emails.

This is a 4-week class. Registration is required.

Musical Sing-along Nights

Multi-purpose Room

July 5th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Come and sing along to a well-known and loved movie musical at our ‘Musical Sing-along Nights’. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:00 p.m. Snacks/beverages will be provided. Stay for a chance to win themed raffle prizes!

Registration is not required. This program is for all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Library Board Meeting

Tower Room

July 13th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually.

Plant Exchange & Pot Painting

Multi-purpose Room

July 15th, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Bring any plants or seeds you don’t want and go home with some that are new to you.

A limited number of 4-inch flower pots are also available to decorate on site. If you would like to decorate your own pot, please register. If you would just like to stop in for the plant exchange, no registration is required!

Opening Day with Matthew Prigge

Multi-purpose Room

July 26th, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

It's a home run! Based on Matthew Prigge's new book "Opening Day in Milwaukee: The Brewers' Season Starters, 1970-2022," this presentation shares both famous and long-forgotten stories from 50+ years of Milwaukee Brewers home openers. Mr. Prigge is currently a librarian in Milwaukee County and a published author.

Registration is recommended.

Summer Reading Challenge

Registration opened June 10th

Join Oak Creek Public Library this summer to read All Together Now! This all-ages Summer Reading Challenge runs Saturday, June 10 – Saturday, August 12. Prizes will be available Monday, June 12 – Saturday, August 12, or while supplies last. Participants who read for 10 hours will receive a prize and have their name added to the window mural overlooking Drexel Town Square.

Meet us at the Farmers Market for Story Time! This 20-minute interactive Story Time incorporates stories, songs, and rhymes.

 

This program is geared toward children ages 2-5, with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required. Feel free to bring a blanket to sit on.

This 15-20-minute Story Time is geared toward children ages birth to 24 months, with an adult (siblings welcome). It features short stories, songs, and lapsit rhymes that foster early literacy and will be followed by a play time.

Registration is not required. Please only attend one time slot per day.

The Oak Creek Fire Department is joining us for Fire Safety Story Time. We'll read books, sing songs, dance, and learn how to stay safe. Finally, we'll have the opportunity to see a fire truck up close!
