Adult Programs

Musical Sing-along Nights
Multi-purpose Room
Dec 7th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Come and sing along to some of the most well-known & loved movie musicals at our ‘Musical Sing-along Nights’! Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:00 p.m. Snacks/beverages will be provided. Stay for a chance to win themed raffle prizes!

Registration is not required. This program is for all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tower Room
Dec. 8th, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually

Multi-purpose Room
Dec. 13th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
A representative from Children's Wisconsin will be presenting information on foster care programs for residents of Milwaukee County. Learn about licensing, training, and supports that are provided when you become involved as a foster parent.

This program is geared toward adults. Registration is recommended.

Friends of the Library Meeting
Technology Training Lab
Dec. 14th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the Technology Training Lab.

Computer Class
Technology Training Lab

Intro to Outlook

Dec. 15th, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Do you want to feel more comfortable with the basics of using Microsoft Outlook? In this computer class, we will cover basic navigation skills, organizing messages and contacts, creating appointments/meetings, and basic email etiquette.

This is a 1-day class. Registration is required.

Wrapping Room
Multi-purpose Room
Dec. 20th - 22nd

12:00 - 7:30 p.m.
This holiday season, come to the Oak Creek Public Library’s Wrapping Room to wrap your gifts with friends and neighbors, and away from prying eyes. Bring your own supplies or use the library’s while they last. Have extra supplies? The library is accepting donations of tape, scissors, wrapping paper, ribbon, tissue paper, gift bags, and gift tags.

The Wrapping Room is for all ages. Registration is not required.

Family, Teen, and Children's Programs

Winter Reading Challenge
Registration opens Dec. 1st
The Winter Reading Challenge runs Thursday, December 1 – Tuesday, February 28. Patrons of all ages may participate. After 10 hours of reading, participants will receive a prize* and have their name added to a mural located on the library windows overlooking Drexel Town Square.

Heartwarming Holidays
YA book display & 2nd floor Service Desk
Dec. 1st - Dec. 17th
Throughout the first half of December, check out themed books located on the display stand in the library’s YA section. After you read one, tell us a bit about it by filling out a short review form, and we'll give you a hot chocolate mix and candy cane prize. Participants can turn in their forms at the second-floor Service Desk to receive their prize.

This program is geared toward teens. Registration is not required.

Star Wars Night
Dec. 8th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Multi-purpose Room
The force is strong at the Oak Creek Public Library! In my experience, there’s no such thing as luck, so come test out your skills in Star Wars-related games, crafts, and other fun activities. Costumes and Star Wars apparel are encouraged.

All ages are welcome to come to this family-friendly event! Registration is not required.

Story Time Room
Dec. 19th, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Brick by brick, we'll build awesome creations and friendships at LEGO® Club! Join us on the third Monday of the month from October through December to craft masterpieces based on different themes.

This program is for ages 4-11, with an adult. Registration is not required.
