Friends of the Library Meeting
Technology Training Lab
Nov. 9th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
For more than 20 years, the Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library has served as an independent organization of persons and businesses interested in assisting the library in developing programs, encouraging gifts, promoting knowledge and providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 6:00 p.m., typically held in the Technology Training Lab.

Library Board Meeting

The Oak Creek Public Library Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Oak Creek Public Library. The Board is composed of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor for staggered three-year terms. The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Civic Center. Some meetings may be held virtually

Musical Sing-along Nights

Nov. 16th, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Come and sing along to some of the most well-known & loved movie musicals at our ‘Musical Sing-along Nights’! Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:00 p.m. Snacks/beverages will be provided. Stay for a chance to win themed raffle prizes!

Registration is not required. This program is for all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cutting the Cord:

How to Get Rid of Cable

Nov. 10th, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Are you tired of paying a large cable bill each month and wish you knew what some of the other options are? In this computer class, you will learn about some of the different available options—such as Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sling TV, etc.—and the different devices on which to stream them.

This is a 1-day class. Registration is required.

Consumer Scams

Nov. 17th, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
A representative from the Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection will discuss the details of common scams, the warning signs of a scam, and what to do if you or someone you know falls victim to a scam or fraud. Helpful factsheets will also be available. 

This program is geared toward adults. Registration is recommended.

This 20-minute Story Time is geared toward children ages birth to 24 months, with an adult. It incorporates short stories, songs, and lapsit rhymes.

Registration is not required. Please only attend one time slot per day.

Multi-purpose Room
Ready to test out your science, technology, engineering, art, and math skills? Come join us for a night filled with critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and fun as you play with LEGO® bricks, robots, and some of our new STEM Explorer Kits.

This program is intended for ages 4-11, with an adult (siblings welcome). Registration is not required.

Nov. 14th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Bring your own Nerf blaster to the library and let the battle begin! We'll supply standard sized Nerf Darts, so please leave yours at home. We'll also have cardboard boxes and other materials available to build forts. Waivers need to be signed by a parent or guardian in order to attend.

Embroidery Basics - Canvas Art

We're going eye to eye with canvas to learn some basic embroidery. Learn how to start and finish a design + two basic stitch types that will set you up for success. It's going to be SEW fun!

We’ll be “Running Up That Hill” in Hawkins at Oak Creek Public Library, so prepare for a night of mysteries, the supernatural, and plenty of Eggo® Waffles during our “Stranger Things” party. We’ll decode messages, answer trivia questions, share fan theories, and more!

This program is for those in grades 6-8. Registration is not required.
